Riot Games Southeast Asia Appoints Talon as Official Partner for VALORANT Esports in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Collegiate League in Hong Kong.

 

Riot Games Southeast Asia has appointed Talon as an official partner for its 2021 VALORANT Esports and Collegiate circuit for Hong Kong and Taiwan. Talon will work with Riot Games Southeast Asia to roll out official esports and collegiate tournaments to cover:

 

  • Esports for Hong Kong

  • Collegiate for Hong Kong

  • Esports for Taiwan 

 

Talon will become the exclusive tournament operator for VALORANT offering teams of all levels to compete for larger tournaments throughout 2021. As a collegiate partner in Hong Kong, Talon will work in partnership with local and international institutions to develop opportunities for aspiring students wishing to pursue a professional esports career.

 

Prior to the 2021 circuit, Talon will also host VALORANT First Strike, the first official competitive tournament to crown regional champions. The top eight teams will face each other in the First Strike Finals from December 3 - 6. The appointed registration dates for Hong Kong and Taiwan region starts on November 1 at https://talon.gg/firststrike

 

Qualifiers for First Strike: Hong Kong & Taiwan will run for two weekends starting on November 21-22 and 28-29. Registration for this 64-team qualifier event will be based on a first come first served basis. Teams will be placed randomly within four groups, each containing 16 teams. Four teams will be invited to the tournament and seeded directly into groups. Qualifiers will feature a double elimination format with all matches running Bo1s. This is a fully online tournament with a live broadcast scheduled for December 3-6 in both Mandarin and Cantonese on Talon’s Twitch and Facebook channels.

 

The VALORANT First Strike tournament presents a total cash prize pool of US$20,000, to be split amongst the top eight teams of the competition.
